There are some forthcoming changes at Wheaton Hall Medical Practice. Our aim is to continue to provide the same levels of service for you.
Dr. Conor O’Shea will be retiring from the practice in 2024. Dr. Conor has been a GP for nearly 40 years, the last 25 years being at Wheaton Hall. Also in 2024, Dr. Laoise Byrne is leaving the practice. Dr. Laoise has been with us for 15 years, however she lives in Dublin and is leaving the practice for family reasons.
In anticipation of these changes, the practice last year appointed Dr. Sugan Nayager as a new partner, and indeed he may already be well known to some of you. Dr. Sugan brings considerable experience of hospital medicine, he subsequently trained on the North East GP training scheme, and is a fully accredited member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He spent a year of his GP training at Wheaton Hall, and we were delighted when he accepted our invitation to return to the practice as a partner.
Furthermore, to continue to provide the same levels of service to our patients, we are actively recruiting another partner to join Drs. McKenna, Kilrane and Nayager.
Some patients with Medical Cards or Doctor Visit Cards may have already received notification of the transfer to Dr. Nayager and arrangements will be made for the remainder to be transferred to Drs. McKenna and Kilrane. However, as you all know, this does not affect which Doctor you choose to see in the practice.
Further updates will be provided here.
